Message from the President

Welcome to Business Continuity Awareness Week.

As we continue to live through the new reality of COVID-19, I hope you are all doing well. I recognize that many of you are busy living through your pandemic and crisis management plans - thank you for the work you do to make your organizations resilient.

Your DRIE Toronto Board of Directors are working diligently to bring value to our members. We continue to meet virtually and are planning some upcoming activities based on the recent member survey:

  • We are delighted to announce a webinar Friday, May 22nd, at 11:00 AM EDT (the last day of Business Continuity Awareness Week), featuring internationally renowned speaker, author and crisis expert Regina Phelps. Regina's talk is titled: “COVID-19 Pandemic: Planning the Re-entry Phase, Restarting Your Organization”.
  • Our next webinar, date to be confirmed, will focus on the requirements necessary to sanitize the work place for return to work. RIE will publish details shortly regarding this session.
  • This year, RIE Toronto is celebrating 35 years since our founding! Stay tuned for news on how we plan to celebrate this milestone for our organization.
  • We will announce future webinars as we firm details.

The economic impacts being felt due to COVID-19 have been at times severe for many people, and possibly for some of our members. Therefore, for individual members facing economic hardship, with upcoming annual membership will NOT be canceled or suspended. However, because our membership renewal system is automated, please contact us. Please contact our Treasurer,Gayle Mitcham, for further inquiries.

A huge thanks and shout out to our sponsors who continue to support us even through these unprecedented times. We remain stable thanks to their continued sponsorship.

Finally, regarding future events/symposiums we’ll continue to monitor and comply with provincial and municipal guidelines and regulations regarding physical gatherings. Please standby for news on our upcoming symposiums normally held in September and December, including our Annual General Meeting.
